At 2,300m, Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe, and its snow reliability is without question. The most modern village in the famous ‘Three Valleys’ ski area, its skiing, facilities and sheer convenience are impossible to beat.
The huge open snow-bowl in which the resort lies offers some of the best intermediate skiing in the whole of the Three Valleys, and the sheer quality of the snow at this height makes it a joy to ski.
In the evenings this is generally a lively place, with an après-ski scene to match its incredible skiing
Val Thorens is known for having one of the most up-to-date lift systems in the world, with a huge uphill capacity that can whisk you quickly and comfortably to the top of the many peaks and glaciers that surround the resort, including eight skiable peaks or passes over 3000 metres! Being so high, snow is guaranteed here, and the resort has one of the longest seasons in the Alps. There are nearly 150kms of pistes in Val Thorens Valley alone, but the big attraction of course is the links with the neighbouring Méribel and Courchevel valleys, with 600kms of pisted skiing in all, plus limitless off-piste areas.
