The beautiful traffic-free village of Saas Fee is known as ‘The Pearl of the Alps’, and rates as one of the finest jewels in Switzerland’s crown.
Few resorts enjoy a more spectacular location than this, surrounded by 13 towering 4,000m peaks, in a delightful valley culminating in the huge glacial snow-bowl of the ski area itself. Completely snowsure, the slopes drop over a whole vertical mile from the spectacular revolving restaurant at Mittelallalin down to the village, making for some sensationally long cruising runs.
Our excellent Chalet Hotel with indoor swimming-pool is ideally located at the foot of the ski area, close to all the main ski-lifts and slopes.
A choice of modern, high-speed lifts whisks you from the village to the three main parts of the ski area - Plattjen, Felskinn and Langfluh, each of which offers a choice of blue, red and black runs. A funicular from Felskinn, or the drag-lifts from Langfluh, then take you on up to the spectacular heights of Mittelallalin at 3,500m, with its famous revolving restaurant and the world’s biggest ice-grotto. From here there is a choice of sensational, stamina-testing runs all the way back down to the village at 1,800m, amidst some of the ski world’s most awe-inspiring scenery.
